Let's talk about your family photo session. Getting everyone ready for a day at the beach is complicated enough, so preparing them all for a family photo shoot is probably a mission and a half. Let's make the whole process a little easier with all your questions answered about your family photoshoot.

What Areas Do You Cover?

I am a family photographer, covering Melbourne and beyond. I love to travel, so if you are based in rural Victoria, I am ready for you! I am a regular to the South East of South Australia, I absolutely love photographing around that part of the state! Please keep an eye on my instagram for future travel updates.

Why Is Your Service Unique?

I love meeting families and seeing the special relationship that you share. Every family and photoshoot is different and every story unfolds in a way that can only happen on that special day. I have a method of shooting that is natural and authentic both in the process of taking the photos and the imagery that is created.

How Do You Describe Your Style Of Photography?

I have a natural, fresh and modern style of photography.I love taking photos of you all being yourselves – the moments of chaos, calmness and craziness included. I will guide you on what to do during the photoshoot, so there is some structure to the session, but it's not super posy.

What Will A Photo Session With You Be Like?

We will walk together, find pretty spots and you will be together as a family doing what you always do. I will photograph you all talking, laughing, being silly, hugging, playing, walking around and exploring your surroundings. As soon as we arrive at the location I can see the best opportunities for the light, but if we see something interesting that you like, we can divert.

What Time Of The Day Do You Recommend We Do The Photoshoot?

For indoor new born sessions, we can be flexible with timings. Often morning (around 10 am) seems to work well for babies and young kids, but it's all good for me if you prefer the afternoon.

Outdoor family and maternity sessions go down perfectly at the golden hour, just after sunrise or just before sunset. This is when the light is stunningly flattering, soft and just all the rays of light we could wish for.

The exact time changes depending on the season. That means in summer the start time is either early in the morning or much later in the evening. If you have young children, this might sound daunting. But I can promise you for this one day, it is worth the sacrifice to make your photos blissfully drenched in the best light possible (even if there is a mini meltdown in the car on the way home).

Where Will Our Session Happen?

We have so many options as we are blessed with gorgeous backdrops and scenic landscapes around every corner. I am happy to recommend places and also I'm open to your suggestions. Let me know where you live and your youngest family members' ages. We can talk about shoot locations and come up with the perfect plan.

Can I have photos with my fur babies?

OMG I'm glad you asked! Your fur babies are your family as I know way too well! I have a beautiful dog - Tilly and two chooks Mango and Raine! Our pets are our extended family and photographing them is an absolute privilege.

What Do I Need To Prepare For My Newborn Is Home Session?

I adore these cozy and intimate photoshoots at home with your family, including your gorgeous newborn. You can relax and take care of your baby when I arrive because I need a quick tour of the house to evaluate the natural light and best areas for photos. I try to use a few rooms to change the surroundings, but there is no need to clean the whole house. If we can move any clutter out of sight for the shoot, it will be wonderful.

What Other Info Do We Need To Know about the new born session?

I know life is a blur now, but the best time for the newborn shoot is within the first 2 weeks, if possible. But if we miss that early window in life, we can do a lifestyle shoot any time in the first two months. Mornings are usually best for babies, but if your little one loves sleeping all morning, we can do the afternoon if you prefer. Don't worry about time because we are on your baby's schedule. I expect to wait for feeding, wake-up time, diaper changes and outfit changes.

Do You Have Wardrobe Advice Please?

I have collated a huge Pinterest board just for wardrobe that I can send to you to browse.

What Happens If We Plan An Outdoors Shoot And The Weather Turns Bad?

If Mother Nature throws us a rainy day (or hail, wind or snow), we can reschedule. The night before or the morning of the shoot, we can make the final call.

What If Someone In The Family Falls Sick?

We are human and it can happen. If so, we can reschedule.

How Long Does It Take To Edit The Photos?

I will deliver your gorgeous gallery with a password within 2-4 weeks of the photoshoot.

Do You Have Gift Vouchers?
